Method

  1. Melt the butter
  2. Add all ingredients (except 0.3 cups of flour and the water) to bread-baking machine (dough mixing mode) and let it work the dough
  3. Feel free to put the dough in the fridge overnight, or let it rise for an hour (covered)
  4. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces, shape them balls
  5. Let them rest for 20 minutes in a draft-free place (turned off oven with light on)
  6. Prepare the soft paste for making the crosses
  7. Put the paste into a piping bag and lay crosses over the buns
  8. Preheat the oven at 200 Celcius while the buns rise for another 20 minutes
  9. Brush the buns with some eggwhite or milk
  10. Bake the buns 15 minutes until golden brown
